Holy Cross of the Mountain
This Entre-deux-Mers appellation faces Sauternes, about 40 kilometers south of Bordeaux. The entire Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation covers 450 hectares of vineyards, built on a plateau formed by fossilized oyster beds from the Tertiary period. The soil of Sainte-Croix-du-Mont is stony, clay-limestone, which allows for the production of great sweet white wines. The grape varieties are exclusively white, with Sémillon dominating, along with Muscadelle and Sauvignon.

The vineyard management and winemaking methods are similar to those used in Sauternes, with Botrytis present at harvest time. Sainte-Croix-du-Mont produces wines with a golden yellow color and aromas of raisins, acacia figs, and apricots. The palate is complex and intense, revealing a certain freshness that balances the sweetness.
