Château Doisy Daëne

Château Doisy-Daëne, classified as a Second Growth in 1855 and located in Barsac within the Sauternes appellation, has been in the Dubourdieu family since 1924. For more than eighty years, three generations of winemakers have worked at Château Doisy-Daëne, passing the tradition from father to son, to produce great sweet wines: Georges (1924–1948), Pierre (1949–1999), and Denis since 2000.

Largely replanted in the 1950s and 1960s, the Château Doisy-Daëne vineyard is over 40 years old. It currently covers an area of 16.3 hectares, planted with Sémillon (87%), Sauvignon (12%), and Muscadelle (1%). Maintained exclusively through traditional tilling methods, the soil of the Château Doisy-Daëne vineyard receives no herbicides. Organic fertilizers are based on plant compost. On this Barsac terroir, Château Doisy-Daëne produces both a great AOC Sauternes wine and a distinguished and highly original dry white Bordeaux, the Grand Vin Sec du Château Doisy-Daëne.
