Haut-Charmes

Haut-Charmes is a wine produced by La Compagnie Médocaine des Grands Crus, which, in less than 30 years, has established itself as a key player in the Bordeaux wine trade, both in France and abroad.

“Haut” comes from the fact that this nectar was produced on the higher elevations of the appellation, while as for “Charmes,” one need only taste it to understand. In addition to the variety of soils that give the wine its unique character, the microclimate—enhanced by the lush and pleasant Ciron Valley—plays a pivotal role in the creation of this wine. Indeed, thanks to these two factors, noble rot, caused by “Botrytis cinerea,” infects the grapes and enriches them with sugar while reducing acidity. All the care taken during production and aging, along with constant attention, have given rise to Haut-Charmes, an exceptional wine.
