Haut-Charmes

Haut-Charmes is a wine produced by La Compagnie Médocaine des Grands Crus, which, in less than 30 years, has established itself as a key player in the Bordeaux wine trade, both in France and abroad.

“Haut” refers to the fact that this wine was produced on the higher elevations of the appellation, while as for “Charmes,” one need only taste it to understand. In addition to the variety of soils that give the wine its unique character, the microclimate—enhanced by the lush and pleasant Ciron Valley—plays a pivotal role in the winemaking process. Indeed, thanks to these two factors, noble rot—caused by *Botrytis cinerea*—infests the grapes, enriching them with sugar while reducing their acidity. The meticulous care taken during production and aging, combined with constant attention, has given rise to Haut-Charmes, an exceptional wine.
