Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
With 47 hectares across 25 climats, this family estate, assembled from countless plots, boasts a unique wine-growing heritage, with a particularly impressive representation of the area around Corton hill. The wines are true to their terroirs of origin, unpretentious and full of sincerity. The estate is managed by Dominique Guyon, run organically and certified from the 2018 vintage onwards. The reds, made from partially destemmed grapes, combine ripe fruit and fine tannins. They are faithful representatives of their terroir of origin, with a range of very successful reds in 2018, led by the Corton Clos-du-Roi, which is not unusual. The whites include the remarkable Meursault Charmes-Dessus and Pernand Sous-Frétille.

About the estate:
This large 48-hectare estate is located in Savigny-lès-Beaune. In the 1960s, Antonin Guyon purchased plots of land stretching from Gevrey-Chambertin to Meursault. In 1970, his son Dominique completed the estate. He managed to acquire 350 plots belonging to nearly 80 owners in the commune of Meuilley in the Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits, representing 22 hectares. Today, Dominique Guyon runs the estate and carries out the vinification with the help of his cellar master, who is also his vineyard manager, Vincent Nicot. The vineyard is particularly well tended, with plowing, moderate amendments, limited yields, and grapes that are always sorted at harvest time. The estate offers a wide range of wines from both the Côte-de-Nuits and Côte-de-Beaune, including numerous Premier Crus and a few Grands Crus from Corton and Charmes-Chambertin. All the wines have beautiful fruitiness and great density.
