"For Chardonnay lovers, this Beaunes 1er Cru represents the essence of Beaune: full-bodied, intense and brilliant!

"A truly impressive white Beaune 1er Cru with expressive, precise aromas of stone fruit, lemon zest and fresh almond, as well as a hint of leafy freshness. The generous body is married to lively acidity. The finish is long, silky and delicately chalky. The discreet oak is never too obvious, even at this very early stage. Cuvée from 10 hectares spread over 5 different 1er Cru sites". (James Suckling 2023)

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the domain :

From Les Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune trading house, founded in 1731, owns over 142 parcels in 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier and Grand Cru. This first-rate winegrowing heritage enables Fréderic Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds, and carefully selected musts for the non-domain whites. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

The golden Beaune du Château blanc 2022 surprises from the outset with aromas of lemon peel and grapefruit; with time, warmer notes of apricot and quince develop, accompanied by some smoky notes. The texture is rich but still lively. The grapes come from 10 hectares of vines spread over five lieux-dits: Aigrots, Tuvilains, Les Teurons, Sur Les Grèves and Les Sizies; they are pressed in whole bunches and barely decanted before being put into barrels to ferment on indigenous yeasts. Harvesting began on August 29 to preserve the freshness of this white. 2027-2055
