Jean-Claude Boisset
Jean-Claude Boisset founded his small winery near Gevrey-Chambertin in the early 1960s. He has since moved to the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, where he now operates out of a former Ursuline convent. The spirit of the house can be summed up in three words: origin, purity, elegance.

Grégory Patriat joined the house and in 2002 became Jean-Claude Boisset’s “viniculteur.” He effectively bridges the art of winemaking with that of cultivation, serving as the link between wine and the vineyard—the very source from which the wine is born. Grégory has the great luxury of being able to choose his grapes. He works in harmony with “his” winegrowers—those who accept his strict selection criteria and his exacting demands. In the vineyard, his requirements are very precise: yield control, debudding, green harvesting, and organic-inspired cultivation.

Jean-Claude Boisset crafts authentic wines, where the winemaker’s hand is as discreet as possible; the wines are concentrated, round, and, of course, express their terroir. The winemaker steps back; the land speaks.
