"One of the most renowned wines—the Chablis 1er Cru ' Favorite '—is a must-have for your wine cellar!"
Every year, it impresses. The 2024 Mont de Milieu comes from a sublime one-hectare terroir of Kimmeridgian marl enriched with small oyster fossils. The result: a full-bodied palate that combines liveliness and complexity, with flavors of citrus, toasted hazelnuts, and crushed stone. Its structure lingers in a powerful, subtly briny finish. An irresistible Chablis 1er Cru.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
We’ve been following this estate for some time now and are delighted by Charly Nicolle’s professionalism and steady progress. Working the terroirs of Fleys—including the two premier crus, Les Fourneaux and the easternmost part of Mont de Milieu—he produces a small range of wines with great density on the palate, effectively highlighting the minerality unique to each cru. This is a sure bet for the region.

Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (guide 2026) 2* Favorite (Millésime 2023) (Remarkable wine)
Rated Estate (2024 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the wine:
Charly Nicolle has earned another “ Favorite ” award, following the one he received last year for his “simple” Chablis Ante MCMLXXX 2022. This remarkable cuvée opens with toasty notes on the nose, reflecting the fact that 20% of the wine was aged in oak barrels. The palate is much more expressive: lively, full-bodied, and rich, it combines citrus notes—very present throughout the finish—with the minerality of the terroir and well-integrated oak. A wine that is at once sunny, powerful, and taut. 2028–2035
About the estate:
Charly Nicolle’s great-grandparents were already growing grapes. Following in the footsteps of previous generations, the young winemaker embarked on this adventure. Based in Fleys, east of Chablis, he established his own estate in 2011, carefully tending his 17 hectares of Chardonnay, and has established himself as a reliable name in the Chablis region. He also manages the family estate, La Mandelière, alongside his own venture.
