Domaine Parigot - Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Clos de la Perrière 2013
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
16/20
RVF (G&M)
A benchmark for the appellation, this Clos de la Perrière is no stranger to acclaim; the 2013 vintage joins the ranks of the "magical trilogy" of 2007-2008-2009 and the sunny 2003 vintage. With its intense purple color and generous nose of cooked fruit highlighted by subtle oak, the first impressions invite you to continue. On the palate, it is round, rich and smooth with great length, underpinned by noble oak and velvety tannins that give it a very courteous character. Already harmonious, this Hautes-Cotes will only gain in complexity with time." (Le Guide Hachette des vins 2016)

About the estate:
The father is Régis; the son is Alexandre. The oenologist is Kyriakos Kynigopoulos, a renowned specialist born in Greece. On a 19-hectare estate, they skillfully showcase the Burgundy terroirs, as evidenced by the numerous accolades received for their wines from the Côte de Beaune and Hautes Côtes.

About wine:
Beneath its deep crimson color, woody graphite notes fill the glass. A supple and generous attack of Burlat cherries with a hint of Black Forest chocolate leaves a delicious flavor on the palate. A liquid pastry to share with friends. Bravo to its creators.

Disappointed because it didn't match the comments in the Hachette guide. Maybe I expected too much?

Frank attack and acidity that lingers on the palate. Lack of richness, even though the finish is quite long.

A wine of great finesse! Very floral and fruity, especially raspberry and wild berries. Very full-bodied and supple on the palate with a toasty background and super-soft tannins. Delicious!
