Mâcon-Igé
The Mâcon-Igé AOP appellation area borders the Mâcon-Azé appellation to the north, while to the south its boundary coincides with the village of Verzé and the Mâcon-Verzé geographical designation. In the 1920s and 1930s, the region’s main cooperative wineries were established in this valley.
Since the 2005 decree, the name “Mâcon” followed by “Igé” has designated white, red, and rosé wines produced within the area bounded by the village of Igé alone.
Area under production (average from 2016 to 2018): Whites: 45 ha Reds: 13 ha.
