Château de Garnerot

The history of Château de Garnerot represents a true renaissance and a new lease on life for Alexia Russo and Caroline Fyot, who needed to reconnect with nature and fulfill a childhood dream: to create a wine estate. After obtaining their Professional Agricultural Certificate at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune and completing internships in the Côte de Nuits and Côte Chalonnaise, their first vintage was produced in 2018.

Their hearts were set on Burgundy, the Côte Chalonnaise, and Château de Garnerot, giving birth to their lifelong dream. 

An 18th-century property and a landmark in the Côte Chalonnaise and Mercurey, Château de Garnerot was home to the Confrérie de la Saint-Vincent and the Disciples de la Chanteflûte de Mercurey for many years. The château hosted the Grands Jours de Bourgogne, the Saint-Vincent Tournante, and numerous wine events. This is why they decided to develop a tourist, leisure, and activity center around oenology, wine, and the flavors of Mercurey. 

Château de Garnerot has 6 hectares of vineyards, mainly in the Côte Chalonnaise and Côte de Beaune. Alexia Russo and Caroline Fyot work organically, which was one of the necessary conditions for working in accordance with their convictions, but also to respect the exceptional terroirs they love so much. They choose plots that they consider to be rich in potential: old vines from mass selection, quality soil, and good orientation.

They also work each of their vintages on a plot-by-plot basis. From Aligoté to Premier Cru, they bring the same care and attention to their vines and their wines. 

Working in the spirit of biodynamics, they plan to be certified by Biodyvin.
