Château de Garnerot

The story of Château de Garnerot represents a true renaissance and a new beginning for Alexia Russo and Caroline Fyot, who sought to reconnect with nature and fulfill a childhood dream: to create a winery. After earning their Professional Agricultural Certificate at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune and completing internships in the Côte de Nuits and Côte Chalonnaise, their first vintage was released in 2018.

Their hearts were drawn to Burgundy, the Côte Chalonnaise, and Château de Garnerot, giving birth to the dream of a lifetime. 

A 18th-century estate and a landmark of the Côte Chalonnaise and Mercurey, Château de Garnerot was home for many years to the Confrérie de la Saint-Vincent and the Disciples de la Chanteflûte de Mercurey. The château hosted the Grands Jours de Bourgogne, the Saint-Vincent Tournante, as well as numerous wine-related events. That is why they decided to develop a hub for tourism, leisure, and activities centered around oenology, wine, and the flavors of Mercurey. 

Château de Garnerot comprises 6 hectares of vineyards, primarily in the Côte Chalonnaise and Côte de Beaune regions. Alexia Russo and Caroline Fyot practice organic farming, which was a necessary condition for working in accordance with their convictions and for respecting these exceptional terroirs they hold so dear. They select plots that offer them a wealth of potential: the age of the vines from mass selection, soil quality, and orientation.

They also produce each of their cuvées from specific plots. From Aligoté to Premier Cru, they devote the same care and attention to their vineyards and their wines. 

Working in the spirit of biodynamics, they plan to seek certification from Biodyvin.
