Etroyes Castle
Since 1720, the Protheau family has owned Château d'Etroyes, located in the heart of Mercurey. Originally a mixed-farming operation, the estate began focusing on viticulture in 1905, when François Protheau established the business as a wine merchant and producer. From that point on, Château d'Etroyes has continued to grow and evolve in the direction of winemaking. In 1996, the new generation took over the estate and decided to cease the wine merchant business to focus exclusively on family-run production.

The vineyard spans over 50 hectares between Mercurey and Rully, including 10 hectares of Premier Cru spread across 5 climats. Since 2002, Château d'Etroyes has been committed to sustainable viticulture to uphold its values of greater respect for the environment and traditions. The estate offers a very wide range of Côte Chalonnaise appellations that highlight the diversity of Château d'Etroyes’s vineyards.
