"This sparkling ruby 1er cru reveals a rich, powerful nose of red berries with hints of caramel. The palate is dense, silky, round and concentrated, with depth and plenty of freshness, which was not easy in this hot, sunny vintage. A great success. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2018 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2018 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the wine:
Supple, airy and delicate, it's well made. In a style that's both straightforward and seductive.
About the domain :
Benoît Eschard, an Arts et Métiers engineer, decided in 2013 to take over from his uncle this old family estate in Mercurey, comprising 8.6 hectares, 7 of which are classified as premiers crus. He has redefined vintage by vintage each step from vine to cellar to bring out the full potential of this estate. We're on the right track, as each year we see real progress in our blind tastings.

Drunk in 12/19. Crisp red fruit on the nose. Supple and juicy on the palate. An accomplished wine with a touch of fat on the finish.
