"This sparkling ruby-colored Premier Cru reveals a rich and powerful nose of red berries complemented by hints of caramel. The palate is dense, silky, round, and concentrated, with depth and plenty of freshness, which was not obvious in this hot and sunny vintage. A great success." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2018 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About wine:
Supple, light, and delicate, it is well-made. In a style that is both straightforward and seductive.
About the estate:
Benoît Eschard, an engineer from Arts et Métiers, decided in 2013 to take over from his uncle this former family estate in Mercurey, comprising 8.6 hectares, 7 of which are classified as premier cru. Vintage after vintage, he has redefined each stage of the process, from the vineyard to the cellar, to realize the estate's potential. The approach seems to be working, as we see real progress every year during our blind tastings.

Drunk in December 2019. Nose of crisp red fruits. Supple and juicy on the palate. A well-rounded wine with a touch of richness on the finish.
