"This sparkling ruby-red Premier Cru reveals a rich and powerful nose of red berries accented by hints of caramel. On the palate, it is dense, silky, round, and concentrated, with depth and plenty of freshness—a rare quality in this hot, sunny vintage. A great success." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2018 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the wine:
Soft, light, and delicate, it is well-made. Its style is both straightforward and alluring.
About the estate:
Benoît Eschard, an engineer from Arts et Métiers, decided in 2013 to take over from his uncle this former family estate in Mercurey, comprising 8.6 hectares, 7 of which are classified as Premier Cru. He has redefined, vintage by vintage, every step of the process from vineyard to cellar to realize the estate’s full potential. This approach seems to be paying off, as we observe real progress each year during our blind tastings.

Tasted in December 2019. The nose offers crisp red fruit aromas. The palate is supple and juicy. A well-rounded wine with a touch of richness on the finish.
