Louis Max
After leaving Georgia, Evgueni Louis Max settled in Burgundy and founded his winery in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1859. He named it after himself: Louis Max. A few years later, Théodore Max built the structure that still houses the cellars, offices, reception rooms, and tasting room today.
In 2007, Jean François Joliette, a native of Burgundy, took over as head of Louis Max. He was joined in 2014 by the renowned Nuits-Saint-Georges winemaker David Duband, who joined the team as technical director.
Louis Max also owns more than 130 hectares of vineyards, primarily in the Mercurey appellation.
