Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2016 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
A complete change of ownership and direction has put this Nuits-Saint-Georges wine merchant back in the saddle: the wines are increasingly vinified and aged by the house to guarantee style and continuity, with a lovely estate of its own in Mercurey. Not everything is perfect yet, but the tenacity of Philippe Bardet, the company's director, who knows the character of great Burgundies (he is co-owner of Clos de Tart!), promises the best for the near future.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2016 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Wine merchant founded in 1859 by Evgueni-Louis Max, an emigrant from Georgia. Since 2007, it has been owned by Philippe Bardet, a wine lover from Geneva who, in 2014, entrusted David Duband, a renowned winemaker from the Côte de Nuits, with the responsibility of vinifying and aging the house's wines. In addition to purchasing grapes, it has its own 150-hectare vineyard in Mercurey and the Corbières. The bottles feature instantly recognizable labels designed by Pierre Le Tan.

Good and not too expensive for a Burgundy white wine.

Nose and palate somewhat disjointed at this stage, not very expressive and with powerful acidity. Should be left to age for at least two years.
