93/100

“A premier cru with great depth, reflecting the terroir from which it comes: delicious!”
This Pinot Noir vineyard, classified as a Mercurey Premier Cru, spans 1.60 hectares between the “Les Croichots” locality, which features distinctive red clay soil. The wine offers intoxicating aromas of fresh cherry, fine leather, and violet. Its full-bodied and velvety palate unfolds with characterful tannins, perfectly balancing a lovely freshness, leading to a long, deliciously elegant finish.

About the estate:
The Suremain estate is probably one of the most surprising to emerge in recent years. Blessed with some of Mercurey’s finest Premier Cru vineyards, Loïc de Suremain, with the help of his parents Yves and Marie-Hélène, manages the estate’s 18 hectares. A particular focus on respecting the terroirs results in Mercurey wines with distinct characteristics and nuances. Loïc, who is passionate about viticulture, is committed to developing wines with greater fruit expression and consistency, based on a deep understanding of his soils. The winery has been completely renovated and expanded; the wines are becoming increasingly precise and score perfectly in our blind tastings. The progress is remarkable and once again places the 2021 vintage among the top three in the appellation.
