"Overlooking the Saône Valley, this cuvée represents the very essence of the excellence of its terroir, a Burgundian gem waiting to be discovered!"

The Pouilly-Fuissé Château des Quarts Monopoles 1er Cru 2022, aged for 18 months, has an appealing bouquet with aromas of yellow plum, crushed stone, nettle, and verbena. It is very complex and has evolved considerably since I tasted it in barrel. The palate is ripe on entry, with a slight viscosity. It is elegant and balanced, but the power builds on the finish. It may deserve a higher rating after a little bottle aging. 2026-2045" (Vinous 2024)

About wine:

Bettane & Desseauve Guide 2025 / to be enjoyed between 2024 and 2032

About the estate:

Dominique Lafon and his partner and collaborator Olivier Merlin, owners of the eponymous estates, two strong and essential names in the region, have acquired an exceptional property. This prestigious architectural complex, set in magnificent enclosed grounds, is located in the heart of the vineyards; 2.5 hectares benefiting from full eastern exposure, on very poor, limestone and stony soil, which produces an exceptional cuvée in the Mâconnais region, always impeccably consistent. Not to be missed.
