"A unique terroir that will delight every palate!"

The nose of this lovely white wine reveals subtle toasted and roasted aromas, blending harmoniously with notes of yellow fruit, plum, marzipan, and hazelnut. It opens with a fresh attack on the palate, followed by richness and power, resulting in an expressive, full-bodied wine with a very pleasing finish.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

The Domaine du Mont Épin is the second estate owned by brothers Richard and Stéphane Martin, of La Croix Sénaillet in Davayé; it was acquired in 2015 and its vineyards are located around Mont Épin. It comprises 15 hectares divided into four terroirs and two appellations: Mâcon-Péronne (seven hectares) and Viré-Clessé. The estate is in the process of converting to organic farming to remain true to the same philosophy as in Davayé, and the wines are produced in two cuvées from Péronne and two from Viré-Clessé, whose style is rather charming, thanks to ripe harvests. These wines are perfect for fine dining.
