Truth - Desire 2013

Vérité - Le Désir 2013

99/100

Robert Parker

“Le Désir 2013 is the sweetest of the three wines from 2013, and the blend of 61% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Malbec stands out, with more than half of the cuvée coming from the hillsides of Alexander Valley, 37% from Chalk Hill, and the remainder from Bennett Valley and Knights Valley. Opaque purple in color, like its siblings, this wine reveals incredible notes of flowers, blueberries, and coffee, exotic spices, a velvety, supple, and structured texture, as well as an incredible finish of incense and licorice. It is a magnificent, young wine with good aging potential of 40–50 years. "Pierre Seillan is justifiably proud of what he has achieved, and while the first vintage of Vérité was only 1998, they are going from strength to strength."
