"A wine of great finesse, paying tribute to the Princes of Orange"

“A complex and beautifully sophisticated nose, revealing numerous notes of sandalwood and floral nuances. A medium-bodied wine, very elegant and compact on the palate, with fine bubbles that lend it length and beauty. A fresh finish. The best vintage to date. A blend of 39% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, and 26% Pinot Meunier. The base wine is from 2021; the remainder comes from the 2018, 2019, and 2020 vintages. Dosage: 5 g/L. Disgorgement in October 2025. Ready to drink now.” (James Suckling 2026)

Wine rated (2027 guide) 94/100

Rated estate (2027 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Led by the duo of Gilles de la Basselière as director and Isabelle Tellier as cellar master, De Venoge has been part of the BCC Group since 1998. The lineup is divided into two main categories: the Cordon Bleu cuvées—which are accessible and available in several varieties, including an always impeccable Blanc de Noirs—and the Prince cuvées, instantly recognizable by their spectacular bottles. The wines in this range, always deep and full-bodied, have gained in aromatic brilliance and, above all, in freshness, and are well worth discovering, especially with a meal.

Wine rated (2027 guide) 2* Stars (Outstanding Wine)

Rated estate (2027 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

The brut from the Princes line, sold in an elegant carafe-shaped bottle. It blends the three Champagne grape varieties, with a predominance of red grapes (39% Pinot Noir, 26% Meunier, 35% Chardonnay), sourced from a dozen different crus (including five grands crus and five premiers crus); it contains 53% reserve wines and is aged on its lees for approximately three years. Its dosage of 5 g/l would already classify it as an extra-brut. In the glass, rose-gold hues reflect the strong presence of the red grapes, as does the hint of raspberry in its floral bouquet. The lingering palate derives its harmony from a creamy attack and lovely freshness.

About the estate:

This champagne house owes its existence to a Swiss citizen from the canton of Vaud, a wine-growing region of Switzerland. Henri-Marc de Venoge founded the company in 1837. His son expanded it internationally and launched special cuvées. In 1864, labels featuring the iconic blue ribbon—reminiscent of a decoration from the days of the monarchy—made their debut. Since 1998, the company has been owned by the BCC Group (which became Lanson-BCC in 2010). Isabelle Tellier heads the house.
