“Exceptional quality for this balanced and complex Jacquesson—a true masterpiece!”
“The 747 vintage captivates us with its depth: even in its youth, the wine displays perfect maturity, vibrancy, and integrity. On the palate, it is full-bodied and refined, with a graceful texture and delicate bubbles. This blend will leave a lasting impression; we are already looking forward to tasting it in a few years’ time as a late-disgorged version.” (Le Guide RVF 2025)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 5*Stars (Exceptional producers, those representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)
About the estate:
Brought to the pinnacle of success by the Chiquet brothers, Laurent and Jean-Hervé, the house is the standard-bearer for champagne among discerning connoisseurs. Recently, François Pinault acquired a stake in the company. We highly recommend these great, deep, and elegant champagnes. Each new cuvée 700 (now 743) is a major creation and receives the utmost attention. It then ages under cork before reappearing as a DT (late disgorgement) version. The single-vineyard wines with the ultimate complexity come from Dizy (Corne-Bautray, Chardonnay), Aÿ (Vauzelle-Terme, Pinot Noir), and Avize (Champ-Caïn, Chardonnay), and are produced only when the terroir is at its peak. The 2009 vintages exhibit exemplary vibrant warmth and endless depth. Magnificent.

This blend will leave a lasting impression; we are already looking forward to tasting it again in a few years as a late-disgorged version.
About the estate:
A new chapter in the company’s history begins with the departure of brothers Laurent and Jean-Hervé Chiquet, who elevated this fine house to the highest echelons of the Champagne region. The Artémis Group has now taken the reins under the leadership of Jean Garandeau, but the teams remain unchanged: Yann Le Gall, cellar master, and Mathilde Perrier, vineyard manager, are still here to carry on the house’s legacy. The 700 cuvées account for the majority of production. What a long way we’ve come since the release of 728, from the 2000 vintage! The estate releases a late-disgorged cuvée every year; the first to be produced and released was 733, based on the 2005 vintage. Only a few single-vineyard cuvées are produced, depending on the quality of the vintage.

About the wine:
The NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 747 (2019 vintage) combines rich texture with remarkable liveliness. Candied lemon, mint, white pepper, mandarin peel, and graphite lend it a vibrant energy. All the elements are beautifully balanced. I particularly admire the depth of the texture. The spring frost was particularly damaging to the Chardonnay, so the blend is clearly Pinot-dominated in this version.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 96/100
About the wine:
A structured and creamy Jacquesson NV, with a texture of very fine bubbles and a beautiful polish. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied, with length and sophistication, yet remains friendly and accessible. Still, there’s something that tells you it will perform even better with age. More Pinot in the blend than in other vintages, as the Chardonnay was affected by frost, and it’s impressive. Chewy on the finish, with phenolic tension and a slight bitterness—but in a good way. Base 2019. Three years on the lees. Dosage 1.5 g/L. Drink now or cellar.
