About the wine:

Two years after disgorgement, this 2015-based edition has settled beautifully, showing all the sunshine of the base year with its tangerine and apricot sweetness, surprisingly smooth and silky from the start before settling into its inviting broad range of praline, cappuccino and bitter almond aromas and subtle chewiness of fruit skin. The intensity of the base year makes this a punchy, full-bodied wine, but it has been beautifully tamed to become a distinctive, suave, multi-faceted Grande Cuvée. Blend of 131 wines, with reserves dating back to 2000.

About the wine:

The 171stÉdition was composed around the 2015 vintage, characterized by unprecedented heat and drought, saved by the rains of the second half of August. In the glass, a clear, golden to fine gold color, animated by fine, lively bubbles, and a blossoming nose of flowers, citrus, pear, mirabelle plum, dried fruit and finely buttered brioche. A lively, invigorating attack opens onto an ample, round, gourmet palate, long irrigated with toasted, hazelnut and lemon notes, energized by a touch of acidity on the finish. Relief, generosity, elegance.

About the wine:

Grande Cuvée 171ème Edition is a delicious blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay and 18% Pinot Meunier. It presents seductive, captivating aromas of dried fruit, pastry, lemon oil, marzipan, spring flowers and ginger, with hints of almond and vanilla that become more pronounced with age. This medium- to full-bodied wine is precise and well-structured, with a fleshy fruity core and a sapid, incisive finish. Made from the 2015 vintage, the blend includes 131 reserve wines dating back as far as 2000 (42% of the total blend) and should age beautifully over the next decade.

About the wine:

This 171st edition is a complete departure from the plant-based marker of 2015, with a subtle blend of twelve other years and 131 wines. It offers us this superb duality, with a nose that is both impressive and inviting. Pastry notes, smokiness, toast and a hint of frangipane combine with white flowers to create a wine that is already inviting and complex. On the palate, there's length, tension and a delicate, cottony mousse.

About the wine:

Based on the 2015 vintage, a blend of 134 base wines dating back to 2000. Very lively, crisp nose. Taut and surprisingly vibrant for such a warm growing season - positively explosive in terms of impact on nose and palate. Lots of acidity and impressive length. A very good Krug, Grande Cuvée.

About the wine:

The tightness and tension of this wine are impressive when you consider that the youngest wine from this vineyard dates from 2015 (a hot, dry year), and that some wines date back to 2000. Ginger and orange zest. A little crème brûlée. Medium-bodied, with notes of apple, pie crust and flowers. It's salty and pungent, but at the same time complex and gorgeous. Chamomile and other floral teas underline it all. The finish is rich and savory. Very good release. It really takes off at the end. Drink it or keep it.

About the wine:

Spanning from 1998 to the 2015 vintage, Champagne Grande Cuvée 171 is rich with a kaleidoscope of aromas including orange marmalade, toasted brioche, almond and ripe peaches. Full-bodied and round, it has a hint of heat on the finish, but is very attractive, balanced and long, with exceptional depth and richness. This fantastic expression of the Grande Cuvée is magnificent straight from the bottle, and will be an excellent addition for collectors to enjoy over the next two decades. Drink between 2023 and 2043.
