The House of Krug was founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a visionary and nonconformist with an uncompromising philosophy. His dream was to create the finest possible Champagne every year, regardless of climatic variations. Drawing on a traditional approach to Champagne production, he decided to transcend the very concept of the vintage in order to create, each year, the most generous expression of Champagne. He thus founded a House where all Champagnes would be of the same level of distinction. Since then, six generations of the Krug family have pursued this dream, enriching the vision and expertise of the House’s founder.
