Champagne Nicolas Maillart

Nicolas Maillart comes from a long line of winemakers dating back to 1753. He represents the passionate and dynamic ninth generation of his family, carrying on a tradition spanning nearly 300 years, whose sole purpose has been to express the potential of Champagne’s terroirs through its wines.

The Nicolas Maillart vineyard is located exclusively on Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots in the Montagne de Reims, with fairly old vines planted primarily on mid-slopes—the ideal setting for producing great wines. The Nicolas Maillart vineyard consists largely of Pinot Noir (75%), complemented by Chardonnay. Nicolas Maillart has also committed to sustainable, environmentally friendly viticulture.

Winemaking and aging take place either in tanks or in barrels, depending on the origin of the grapes. Reserve wines are also partially aged in barrels to give them greater complexity. In this way, Nicolas Maillart produces Champagnes of consistent quality, while also setting aside some highly original and particularly expressive wines. Finally, extended aging in the cellar allows the Nicolas Maillart wines to fully express their character.
