Champagne Nicolas Maillart

Nicolas Maillart comes from a long line of winemakers dating back to 1753. As a passionate and dynamic ninth-generation winemaker, he carries on a tradition spanning nearly 300 years, a tradition dedicated solely to expressing the full potential of Champagne’s terroirs through his wines.

The Nicolas Maillart vineyard is located exclusively on Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots in the Montagne de Reims, with fairly old vines planted mainly on mid-slopes—the ideal setting for producing fine wines. The Nicolas Maillart vineyard consists largely of Pinot Noir (75%), complemented by Chardonnay. Nicolas Maillart has also committed to sustainable, environmentally friendly viticulture.

Fermentation and aging take place either in tanks or in barrels, depending on the origin of the grapes. Reserve wines are also partially aged in barrels to give them greater complexity. Nicolas Maillart thus produces Champagnes of consistent quality, while also setting aside highly original and particularly expressive wines. Finally, extended aging in the cellar allows the Nicolas Maillart wines to express themselves more fully.
