Champagne Pommery

Located in Reims and built in the Elizabethan Neo-Gothic architectural style, the Pommery Champagne House is now part of the Vranken Monopole group. Founded in 1836, the Pommery & Greno House was taken over in 1858 by Madame Pommery. She breathed new life into the company, establishing high standards of quality and expanding the business internationally. A visionary who pioneered a new style of Champagne, she created the first brut Champagne, the Pommery Nature 1874, breaking with the conventions and traditions of very sweet wines. Under her leadership, the Houseof Pommery built impressive cellars in its chalk quarries. A monumental staircase of 116 steps is the sole link between this underground world and the outside world. ​ ​
