Champagne Pommery

Located in Reims and featuring an Elizabethan Neo-Gothic architectural style, the Pommery Champagne House is now part of the Vranken Monopole group. Founded in 1836, the Pommery et Greno House was taken over in 1858 by Madame Pommery. She breathed new life into the business, establishing rigorous quality standards and expanding the house’s reach internationally. A visionary of a new style of Champagne, she created the first brut Champagne, the Pommery Nature 1874, breaking with the conventions and tradition of very sweet wines. Under her leadership, the Houseof Pommery saw the creation of imposing cellars in its chalk quarries. A monumental staircase of 116 steps is the sole link between this underground world and the outside world. ​ ​
