“Very expressive!”

"Complex, with a savory and spicy character, displaying notes of tobacco, salty plums, olives, black cherries, blackcurrant, and a hint of white pepper on the nose, followed by a refined, balsamic note. A full-bodied Seña, with juicy fruit framed by tight, extremely fine tannins. Long, brilliant, and elegant in this warm vintage. A wine with great harmony now, but best drunk from 2025. Wine rated (2022 guide) 95/100

About the wine:

Beautiful expression of fruit, crisp and well-defined, yet with a lovely texture—concentrated, smooth, and round. It’s bursting with ripe, sweet, and juicy fruit, featuring a chalky, creamy texture supported by lively acidity. The wine is bold and clearly powerful, with depth of ripe blackcurrants, black cherries, plums, and raspberries, as well as notes of freshly cut flowers, herbs, and sweet spices—rosemary, violets, and cinnamon. The tannins are fine and well-integrated. This wine seems to have been crafted with finesse. Beautifully expressive—I love its style; everything feels very polished and focused.  2025–2043

Wine rated (2022 guide) 97/100 (Extraordinary wine)

Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the wine:

It is subtle and layered, not only in terms of fruit but also spice; it has polished tannins and very well-integrated oak after 22 months in barrels, 78% of which are new, with 10% of the volume aged in large Stockinger casks. Warmer vintages seem to be well managed, so that this is not reflected in the ripeness but is more a matter of texture and tannin quality. In warmer years, such as 2017 or 2019, the wines have a bit more grip, but these are definitely more refined than those from the 2017 vintage. This wine has intensity and complexity, without any minty or herbaceous notes; it is spicy and juicy, with energy and depth. It has the structure, color, body, and acidity to age well in the bottle.

About the wine:

Seña 2020 was produced during another hot, early-ripening year, further complicated by COVID-19 restrictions, which hindered decision-making in the vineyard. A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 15% Carménère, and 7% Petit Verdot, it was aged for 22 months, 90% of which was in French oak barrels and the remainder in large casks. Deep garnet-red in color, the intense, ripe nose offers notes of herbs, blackcurrant, and plum, while on the palate, the rich balance delivers a smooth, focused structure supported by firm yet restrained tannins. Juicy and easy-drinking, with nuanced flavors, it will improve with bottle aging. 2026–2043
