Almaviva
In 1997, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle founded Domaine Almaviva with the aim of creating an exceptional French-Chilean wine.
The partnership between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Viña Concha y Toro SA introduced the concept of a "French-style château" to Chile for the first time and marked a key milestone in the growth of Chilean wines on the global market.
Today, Domaine Almaviva covers 60 hectares of vineyards, blending grape varieties typical of Bordeaux wines with those of the Chilean terroir. The varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.
Located in the heart of the Maipo Valley and the Puente Alto terroir, the vineyard produces a high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon thanks to a climate that is ideal for its cultivation. This variety is therefore always predominant in allAlmaviva vintages.
The wine is aged in barrels for 10 months in a first cellar, then transferred to a second cellar for a further 6 to 8 months before bottling.
