"The 2008 vintage of Pieza el Caldero is composed of 96% Aragon and 4% Grenache, aged over 70 years. It was aged for 12 months in American oak barrels before being bottled without filtration. Slightly less exuberant than Pieza el Coll (but also a little more complex), it offers greater density and structure, with ripe, succulent fruit. This wine is a very pleasant surprise. Its very woody, almost smoky notes will not appeal to everyone. This wine pairs beautifully with ribeye steak and strong cheeses, but definitely not with mild, refined cuisine.
