"Vinified in stainless steel vats, then aged for 8 months in new French and American oak barrels. Deep ruby color. Aromas of boysenberries, cherry liqueur, and licorice evolve with aeration into smoky, vanilla, and floral notes. Very concentrated and consistent on the palate, offering juicy fruit (blueberry) and cola flavors that demonstrate clarity and beautiful length. Spicy, smoky and fairly persistent finish, unfolding a touch of violet-flavored candy with a supple tannin structure." (Josh Raynold, Vinous, November 2016)
