Bodega Pago de los Capellanes

In the 1980s, the Rodero-Villa family took over the Bodega Pago de los Capellanes estate in the town of Pedrosa de Duero, in the heart of one of the finest regions of the Ribeira del Duero DO.

The vineyards of Bodega Pago de los Capellanes are located primarily in the province of Burgos and now cover about 100 hectares planted mainly with Tinto Fino (Tempranillo from the Ribera del Duero), as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The soils are primarily clay-limestone and not very fertile, allowing the planted grape varieties to express themselves to the fullest and forcing the vines to develop roots that reach deep into the ground. Just like Vega Sicilia, Bodega Pago de los Capellanes ages all its DO Ribeira del Duero wines in its cellars until they are ready to drink at the time of release. The great wines of Bodega Pago de los Capellanes are noble, distinguished, sumptuous, and majestic. They are worthy of our Bordeaux grands crus classés.
