Lopez de Heredia - Rioja Viña Cubillo Crianza 2018

The 2018 Viña Cubillo Tinto Crianza red wine is elegant and alluring, fresh and aromatic, with floral notes. It is the product of a challenging year marked by heavy rains and high humidity. This vineyard is typically the last to be harvested, and the grapes were picked late, on October 26. It is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacho, and 5% Graciano and Mazuelo, which aged for six years in a combination of oak tanks and well-seasoned American oak barrels. It is elegant and crisp, young and still evolving, with very fine tannins and a silky, refined palate. It has an alcohol content of 13.5%, a pH of 3.0, and an acidity of 6.5 grams. This could be the best Cubillo in recent years, and it’s a real bargain. 120,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in March 2024. 2026–2035
