About the wine:

Finca Valdepoleo is a pure Tempranillo from a vineyard planted in 1973 at an elevation of 630 meters, located in the village of Laguardia, where the winery and all the estate’s vineyards are situated. 2013 was a rainy year with low temperatures in the spring. The wine fermented in small stainless steel tanks with native yeasts, followed by 14 months in French oak barrels. The wine clearly reflects the character of the vintage: light in color and very aromatic, with floral notes—somewhat atypical for Pujanza. Here, they aimed for less intense extraction because the grapes were less ripe, and they didn’t want to bring out green notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with fine tannins and lively acidity. It is very enjoyable; its freshness makes it an ideal pairing for food. We love this wine.
