Bodega Enate

Bodega Enate is the queen of Somontano. A temple to wine and art since 1984, the new facilities were designed by architect Jesús Manzanares in 1991. Working in ecological agriculture, the estate's team takes extreme care to nurture all the varieties present in the vineyards, which cover the three valleys of the appellation.

Jesús Artajona (see photo) is the bodega's oenologist. He studied oenology in Bordeaux (and at Château Margaux). Jesús Sese, co-founder of the Bodega, is in charge of vineyard management. Bodega Enate's vineyards cover an area of 500 hectares, planted with varieties such as Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah for reds, as well as Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer for whites. The size of the estate is explained by the very low planting density (3 m between rows). Extreme care is taken with ecological cultivation, and the grapes are harvested by hand to preserve their quality.

Bodega Enate 's red blends bring out the varietal character and aromatic power of the grape varieties used. An exploration of the range is highly recommended for wine lovers to discover the expression of Somontano's character and diversity.

Bodega Enate 's reds are expressive, with a strong Spanish and Somontano character. The bodega's whites are elegant and expressive; they have made the bodega's reputation and are always enthusiastically received by critics when they are released each year, especially the exceptional Chardonnay UNO.
