Camigliano - Brunello di Montalcino 2013
93+/100
Robert Parker
"The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino displays remarkable balance and integrity. The delicate sweetness of the fruit contrasts beautifully with the more volatile, licorice-like aromas that come so naturally from the Sangiovese grown in the impressive Montalcino appellation. This is a beautiful wine from Camigliano, an estate that excels in classic, cooler vintages like 2013. The winemaking is also impeccable, with balanced intensity and integrated tannins. There is a playful note of sweet cherry on the finish that we clearly identify as the estate’s signature.” (Wine Advocate 2018 - Robert Parker)

A powerful nose with notes of kirsch and herbs, licorice, and a hint of cocoa. Warm yet approachable on the palate. Rather refined; not bad at all, especially when mature.

Not convinced...this wine seems a bit watered down to me; the color is light, and the flavor is a bit flat...I'll have to try the next bottle.

Disappointed by the first two bottles, which were a bit closed, even a bit harsh. Much better with the third bottle, which I drank in 2020.
