Tenuta di Lilliano
The Ruspoli family, a long-established aristocratic family, has been based in Tuscany since the Renaissance. In 1958, Princess Elena Ruspoli Berlingieri began producing Chianti Classico at Tenuta di Lilliano.
The Tenuta di Lilliano vineyard covers 40 hectares, primarily planted with Sangiovese—the king of Chianti grape varieties—and divided into three vineyards: Le Piagge, Casina Sopra Strada, and Vigna Catena.
Tenuta di Lilliano has two cellars: the winemaking cellar built in 1978 and the aging cellar beneath the villa, which is part of the historic Lilliano estate, where the Chianti Classico Riserva and Gran Selezione age in barrels.
