Dolcetto d'Alba
The Dolcetto d'Alba Denomination of Controlled Origin (DOC) is an Italian designation from the Piedmont region, recognized since July 16, 1974. Only red wines harvested within the production area defined by the decree are eligible for the Dolcetto d'Alba DOC. The authorized vineyards are located in the provinces of Cuneo and Asti, covering an area of approximately 2,000 hectares. The Dolcetto d'Alba appellation is considered in Italy to be one of the best in Piedmont due to the presence of high-quality producers in the region. The Dolcetto d'Alba vineyards are situated on the slopes of the many hills south of Alba, near the Tanaro River and the Dolcetto di Dogliani vineyards.
