Antonella Corda - Isola dei Nuraghi Ziru 2019
17,5/20
Jancis Robinson
"A true tribute to the Italian Vermentino grape variety!"
Ziru is the ancient local name for the jars used to store oil and wine. This wine undergoes a long maceration process, is aged in earthenware jars, and is naturally unfiltered. It smells of honey, heady, like the warm, thick scent of many lime trees in bloom. There is honeysuckle, the buzzing of a lazy bumblebee, and richness—a wine with the sensuality of a sleepy summer afternoon. Golden and honeyed, but with a wonderful thick, creamy bitterness underlying it all; folded, dimensional, expressing itself in space, like a rich impasto painting with a broken texture on a raw linen canvas stretched across a frame. Lanolin and aloe, freesia and baked pear, candied grapefruit peel, bay leaf, bright lemon leaf. Absolutely magnificent. 2022-2027" (Jancis Robinson 2023)

Tasted after 8 days of rest: golden yellow color, wine is cloudy, disturbing, taste bordering on unpleasant, everyone grimaced.
