"Ziru is the old local name for the jars used to store oil and wine. This wine undergoes a long maceration, is aged in earthenware jars, and is naturally unfiltered. It smells of honey, heady, like the warm, thick fragrance of many blooming linden trees. There are notes of honeysuckle, the buzz of a large, lazy bee, and richness—a wine with the sensuality of a sleepy summer afternoon. Golden and honeyed, yet with a wonderful thick, creamy bitterness underpinning it all; layered, multidimensional, expressing itself in space, like a rich, impasto painting with a cracked texture on a raw linen canvas stretched across a frame.
