Clairette from Languedoc
Established in 1948, the Clairette du Languedoc AOP produces a dry white wine west of Montpellier. It is made from the Clairette grape variety, one of the region’s oldest. The soil typical of the appellation consists of marl and schist, on terraces dating from the Villafranchian period. The climate is typically Mediterranean. AOC Clairette du Languedoc wines, made from a single grape variety, can be sold young, dry, or sweet.
