Exindre Castle
Located 12 km from Montpellier in a beautiful setting between the sea and the garrigue, the site of the Exindre Castle - During the Roman period, La Magdelaine was a Gallo-Roman villa used for agriculture, known as Villa d’Exindrio. The kings of France and later the bishops of Maguelone in turn developed the land by cultivating vineyards and olive groves. In the 12th century, the bishops built a church dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene. The baptismal font, engraved with the name Amélius, remains a testament to this era. Purchased during the French Revolution, the Exindre Castle has been owned by the Sicard family for seven generations. Catherine and her husband Bernard Géroudet took over the estate in 1986, continuing the winemaking tradition of this place.

Château d'Exindre produces wines under the Coteaux du Languedoc, Muscat-de Mireval, and Vins de Pays de la Mourre appellations. The diversity of the terroir, comprising garrigue and semi-hillside terrain, allows for the cultivation of 14 different grape varieties across 45 hectares, which contribute to the complexity of the wines: Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds, and Chardonnay, Vermentino, and Grenache Blanc for the whites.
