Château de Lancyre - La Rouvière 2018
15/20
Bettane & Desseauve
"Very fresh white, crisp fruit with volume and a tasty menthol finish." (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve 2020) A blend of Roussanne (80%) enhanced with Marsanne and Viognier on limestone terroir, imparting an airy dimension to this Mediterranean white. Nose of white flowers and citrus fruit, full-bodied and generous on the palate, with aromas of citrus fruit, sweet spices and hints of eucalyptus for freshness. The finish is balanced by a saline touch, giving a long, lingering finish. Mediterranean freshness!

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2020 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the wine:
Very fresh white, crisp fruit with volume and a delicious minty finish.
About the domain :
After Bernard Durand, who accompanied the Pic Saint-Loup's conversion from sheep-dominated polyculture to its recognition as a quality wine-growing zone, Régis Valentin, his nephew, has taken over the technical reins. Without fanfare, this is an estate to seek out for its powerful yet tasty Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, its Clos des Combes and its Grande Cuvée. The Cuvée Madame is even more ambitious, and the rosé is consistently delicious.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2025) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Régis Valentin, oenologist and cellar master, took over the estate created in 1960 by the Durand-Valentin families in 2001. He produces wines from 80 ha of vines (in organic conversion since 2019) occupying a beautiful terroir of hard limestone and red clay. A sure bet in the Languedoc.
