Château Auzias
Set in a magnificent Gallo-Roman villa dating back to 416 AD, Château Auzias is the largest estate in the Cabardès appellation, covering 160 hectares, including 80 hectares of vineyards.
Located near the city of Carcassonne in Pennautier, Château Auzias underwent a revival in 1998 under the impetus of Dominique Auzias, now supported by his four children. The estate expanded, joining forces with the neighboring Château Paretlongue, following a family inheritance: restructuring of the vineyard, cellars, and commercial structure.
The Cabardès appellation is known for its unique blends for the region, introducing Bordeaux grape varieties to Languedoc: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot blended with the traditional Grenache and Syrah. The vines grow on the gravelly slopes of the Montagne Noire and the sandy banks of the Fresque, benefiting from a microclimate influenced by both the Mediterranean and the ocean. Red wines account for 85% of production and rosé wines for 15% in the appellation.
