Malepère
The appellation Malepère is the westernmost region of Languedoc, situated on the terraces and hillsides that run along the mountain range of the same name. The appellation area covers 39 municipalities. One of the distinctive features of Malepère is that it includes grape varieties from the Southwest (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon) as well as those from the Mediterranean region, such as Grenache, Cinsault, and Cot. The appellation Malepère produces only red and rosé wines.

The climate is Mediterranean with an oceanic influence. The vineyard of Malepère is located on hillsides with clay-limestone soil, at an elevation of between 100 and 300 meters.
