"Nearly three-quarters of the Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and a touch of Mourvèdre were aged for three months in vats and twelve months in barrels. With this regime, one might expect the creation of a big, muscular, dark-eyed man, snapping at everything in his path. Not at all. On the contrary, this wine shines in the light, structured indeed, but elegantly dressed in a soft fabric, and it diffuses refined balsamic scents. It then unfurls on the palate with volutes of blond tobacco of great finesse, finishing in beauty on a note of warm Arabica". (Guide Hachette des Vins 2019)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2019 guide) 16,5/20 + Favorite (Reference wine)
Domaine rated (2019 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the wine:
Powerful yet refined nose, deep fruit, subtle oak, great minerality, full, flattering palate, with a tight, silky structure, fruit and length. Classic, balanced. We love the elegance and charm.
About the domain :
When Jean-Michel Cazes (Château Lynch-Bages, Les Ormes de Pez, Domaine des Sénéchaux) invested in the Minervois, it was neither by chance nor without ambition. Half of the 60-hectare vineyard was replanted and restructured when it was acquired in 2002. The warm climate in which the vines are planted is the hallmark of the wines, which are dense, well-built Minervois. Jean-Michel Cazes handed over the reins to his son Jean-Charles, who has helped the wines evolve towards a style all his own, a true blend of Bordeaux classicism and elegance, with the aromatic exuberance of Mediterranean grape varieties and climate.
