Château de la Guimonière

Château de la Guimonière, ownedby Alain Château —as are Château de Varennes and Château Bellerive—is located in one of the most remarkable appellations of the Loire Valley. After producing wines under the Anjou appellation, Château de la Guimonière now produces a sweet wine under the Chaume appellation, which has since been replaced by the Coteaux du Layon Chaume appellation.

The vineyards of Château de la Guimonière overlook the Layon River, planted on sloping terrain. They come to life in the fall amid the morning mists, then are warmed by the sun. This microclimate provides ideal conditions for the development of overripe grapes. Château de la Guimonière is a wine with a brilliant yellow color. On the palate, the rich and complex attack reveals all the aromas of candied fruit and citrus already present on the nose.
