Château de la Guimonière

Château de la Guimonière, ownedby Alain Château, as are Château de Varennes and Château Bellerive, is located in one of the most remarkable appellations of the Loire Valley. After producing wines under the Anjou appellation, Château de la Guimonière now produces a sweet wine under the Chaume appellation, which has since been replaced by the Coteaux du Layon Chaume appellation.

The vineyards of Château de la Guimonière overlook the Layon, planted on sloping terroir. They awaken in the fall in the morning fog and are then warmed by the sun. A microclimate thus ideally promotes the development of overripe grapes. Château de la Guimonière is a wine with a bright yellow color. On the palate, the rich and complex attack reveals all the aromas of candied fruit and citrus already evident on the nose.
