Gimonière Castle
Château de la Guimonière, ownedby Alain Château as are Château de Varennes and Château Bellerive—is located in one of the most remarkable appellations of the Loire Valley. After producing wines in the Anjou appellation, Château de la Guimonière now crafts a sweet wine from the Chaume appellation, which has since been replaced by the Coteaux du Layon Chaume appellation.

The vineyards of Château de la Guimonière overlook the Layon River, planted on sloping terrain. They awaken in the autumn amidst the morning mists, only to be warmed by the sun. This microclimate thus provides ideal conditions for the development of overripe grapes. Château de la Guimonière is a wine with a brilliant yellow color. On the palate, the rich and complex attack reveals all the aromas of candied fruit and citrus already present on the nose.
