A red Anjou with a nose featuring notes of ripe black fruit that evolve into more complex hints of spice. The palate is velvety and silky, with aromas of ripe fruit (blackcurrant and prune) and well-integrated tannins... A seductive bottle, a beautiful expression of the Loire Valley!

5-Star Rated Estate (Outstanding Production)

About the estate:

Built in the 15th century in the town of Rochefort-sur-Loire, this 23-hectare estate belongs to Alain Château’s Vignobles Germain et Associés group, as does Château Bellerive. Located in the Coteaux du Layon-Chaume appellation, which has just been designated Chaume 1er Cru, Alain Château enlisted Michel Doucet to craft the wines. After serving many purposes, the château is now a charming guesthouse offering a pleasant retreat in this region where guests can savor fine Coteaux du Layon wines. The Chaume 1er Cru is a true masterpiece, with an intense and very rich body, but also a subtle bitter structure that makes it more complex and balanced.
