Grosbois Estate
Domaine Grosbois is run by Nicolas Grosbois, who continues the work of a long line of winegrowers dating back to 1820. The vineyard of this family estate, covering 9 hectares of vines, is located in a place called "Le Pressoir" in the Chinon appellation, in the heart of the Loire Valley between the forest and the river.

The Cabernet Franc grape variety, known as "Breton," is grown on either clay-limestone or clay-siliceous soils, varying in depth from 30 cm to 3.5 m at the bottom of the hillside, and planted on a limestone bedrock called Millarge or Tuffau-Jaune. These different soils shape the personality of the wines of Domaine Grosbois: the gravelly soils at the bottom of the hillsides produce fruity wines, while the clay-siliceous soils at the top of the hillside produce more structured wines.
