Antoine De La Farge - Menetou-Salon rouge 2024
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"A concentrated dose of happiness!"
"This vintage was a hit in 2022, and it's enchanting in 2024. Gravity-fed harvesting, gentle pressing, indigenous yeasts, aging in vats—everything is done (and done very well) to preserve the purity of the Pinot fruit. The nose? A rainbow: flowers (peony, iris) followed by fruit (cherry, raspberry), a hint of pepper and a pinch of aromatic herbs (licorice). A pleasant sweetness coats a supple palate that is not overpowering, but enhances the finesse of the tannins, the freshness of the fruit and the smoothness of the texture. The finish, digestible and spicy, rounds off the tasting very nicely. A delight and a snub to the vintage." (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

About wine:
This vintage was a hit in 2022, and it's still going strong in 2024. Gravity-fed harvesting, gentle pressing, native yeasts, tank aging—everything is done (and done very well) to preserve the purity of the Pinot fruit. The nose? A rainbow: flowers (peony, iris) followed by fruit (cherry, raspberry), a hint of pepper and a pinch of aromatic herbs (licorice). A pleasant sweetness coats a supple palate that is not overpowering, but rather highlights the finesse of the tannins, the freshness of the fruit, and the smoothness of the texture. The finish, which is easy to drink and spicy, rounds off the tasting nicely. A delight and a snub to the vintage.
About the estate:
Coming from a long line of winegrowers based in Menetou-Salon since the 16th century, Antoine de la Farge, an agricultural engineer and oenologist, joined the Ermitage estate founded by his parents in 2013 (since renamed Dom. de la Fidélité, cultivated organically). At the same time, he created his own wine merchant business, which covers the appellations of the Centre Loire region (Menetou-Salon, Sancerre, and Pouilly-Fumé). Since 2019, he has also been managing Dom. Chavet (Menetou-Salon).
