Domaine La Croix Mélier - Montlouis sur Loire Les Outardes 2019 (demi-sec)
2*Étoiles
Hachette
Aged for nine months in barrels, this wine, named in honor of the migratory birds that sometimes nest on the plot, has a deep straw yellow color and impeccable clarity. The expressive nose is reminiscent of peach and quince, with floral scents and some more vegetal notes. The palate is long and balanced, with exotic fruit flavors leading to a citrus-oriented finish. True to the appellation, this semi-dry wine came close to being a favorite."(Le Guide Hachette 2022)

About the estate:
After studying at the "Viti" in Beaune and spending two years at Croix Mélier while continuing to work as an actor, Philippe Ivancic took over from Pascal Berthelot in 2017, inheriting 12.5 hectares of vineyards (certified organic since 2022), which he cultivates with his wife Dominique.

About the estate:
Montlouis-sur-Loire is the land that produces fascinating Chenin wines in all their forms: sparkling, dry, delicate, or sweet. It is here that Philippe Weiss and Dominique Ivancic, who have switched careers to become winegrowers, chose to start their project. He was an actor in Paris, she was in charge of microcredit development. After training at the Beaune wine school, they settled in Montlouis in 2017, a year marked by a terrible frost. But the couple kept the faith and, with a great deal of enthusiasm, desire, and hard work, converted the vineyards to organic farming. From the moment they arrived, they produced sincere and honest white wines, whose rough edges add to their charm, with a freedom of tone that is never decadent.
