La Croix Mélier Estate
The La Croix Mélier Estate spans 16 hectares of vineyards on the hillsides between Tours and Amboise in the famous village of Montlouis-sur-Loire. It is known for its dry, off-dry, sweet, and sparkling white wines made from the Chenin grape variety. The soil in this part of the Loire is clay-siliceous but is best known for the white stone that makes up the subsoil, called "Tuffeau."

In 2017, Pascal Berthelot handed over the reins of La Croix-Mélier to Philippe Ivancic, an actor who studied viticulture in Beaune to train for his new career as a winemaker, supported by his wife Dominique Weiss. They both look forward to a bright future. The vineyard and winemaking at La Croix-Mélier are conducted in accordance with the sustainable viticulture quality charter and hold Terra Vitis certification. The vineyard soils are worked mechanically, without herbicides. Since 2022, the vineyard has been certified organic.
