Domaine Michel Chevré

Domaine Michel Chevré was founded in 2007 and began producing Les Ecotards AOC Saumur in 2009. This wine is made from a one-hectare plot of Chenin grapes grown on a south-facing limestone hill in the village of Courchamps.

In 1992, Michel Chevré met Thierry Germain, who had just moved to Domaine des Roches Neuves in Varrains, in the Saumur Champigny appellation. The two men hit it off immediately and Michel began working there as a vineyard manager. Together, in 2002, they converted Domaine des Roches Neuves to organic farming and created the famous single vineyard cuvée, L'Insolite.
